First thing to know is :- What is Valentine’s Day?
We all love to Celebrate Valentine\’s Day hence we don’t have much to tell you about Valentine’s Day. But there is a story about this day that we can share to let you know why to celebrate the day. This has been said that in ancient Rome there was an Emperor Named Claudius II he banned his soldiers from getting married as he use to believe that marriage turn men into bad soldiers. St. Valentine who was a priest though t this is unfair and he broke the rule and arranged marriages in secret. When the emperor came to know about this he imprisoned St. Valentine and sentenced to death. In the jail St. fell in love with jailor’s blind daughter, his true love and fate cured her blindness, When he was to be sentenced on 14th February he wrote a love letter signed as “From your Valentine”. After this we started celebrating 14th February as Valentine’s Day.
The story is all about Lovers and hence we celebrate it as lover’s day but celebrating it in office seems to be inappropriate by the rules of the office hence we must try to avoid this at office. Celebrating the V Day with any single person or your co-worker at office seems to be uncomfortable hence you must avoid this at office.
If you still are willing to celebrate this day try the following tips:-
- Buy it for all: – If you want to share chocolates or gifts, buy it for all. May be the special one get a special gift but still you can present chocolates to your staff too. You can also order a cake for the whole staff too.
- It’s Party time: – Organize a small lunch time or tea time party for the staff. Do have some light gossips and experience sharing in the party. No holding hands, no roses and no to all not allowed things but just a small get to gather party.
- Wish All: – Wish all your staff and co-workers. It’s a good way to acknowledge all without crossing the line.
- Make the day count to all: – If you really wish to celebrate this day then bring out some other than usual games to express the love, this can be for the family, related to your job or anything other than the special one. You can make a board and ask all to mention their love regarding the office or job; it can be a city where they would love to go or any particular monument they wish to see and why.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day is not a crime but celebration needs to be simple and in limits. Never cross the limit.
