“Aim for the moon if you miss it you’ll hit a star” this is an old saying but is a justifying saying when it come to set a target for better performance. Set a high target and if you miss that you’ll be at least to some closer one.
Targets not just make us aware of what we are on to but if we don’t achieve the target ewe at least came to know where we are and where we are lacking. We need to have targets to know – are we on the path to progress or not. Every target informs you where and how much effort must be applied to achieve the target.
We must aim high but still have some other aspects that can be considered. Here are few points that can also be considered.
- Draw a picture: – More clear is your picture more appropriate you will be about what you want to achieve and how easy or difficult this is going to be.
Give yourself a defined time period limits like to achieve this it will take 6months or less. This will give you a proper time table for finishing the target and you will be able to get proper time duration to achieve the target.
- Be practical: – Setting unrealistic targets will only pull back and you won’t be able to do anything proper. You target must be stretching and pushing you to achieve but it must not seem to be day dreaming.
A practical target is what you will be able to achieve on the decided or more time but not a plan that cannot be achieved by anyone and will only miss lead you to get what you want to.
- Support your plan: – Always support your low level of working to get your high level target. This is a simple thing to understand that you can’t be on top without stepping on the bottom stair. So always support the lowest part of your work to achieve your highest point.
Whatever you are going to do need to make sure that you are ultimately achieving what you are targeting.
- Play the Day: – You need to play with what you do. If you won’t be able to make your work interesting you won’t be able to finish it with your best. So make sure you make it as simple and easy as playing games. If you can plan to play with your work then you will be able to hit Bulls eye for sure.
This doesn’t mean play instead of working but make the work as simple and southing entertaining as any game and for pressurizing as work. A target is most of the time pressurizing hence if you want to achieve the target you have to make it fun to do because we can do fun better then work.
Achieving a target is just to make sure that you can do whatever you wish to in a limited time or less then that so make it easy and comfortable not pressurizing.
